The Double Detangler Comb by Ouidad

Share/Bookmark

This comb is GREAT for knots in my thick wavy hair. For me to shell out $24 bucks for this comb, and buy ANOTHER for my gym bag and yet ANOTHER for my travel bag (which I keep packed at all times because packing products when traveling is migraine-inducing) – you know I think it’s the cat’s meow. I have tried a ton of the other Ouidad products, but I can’t say I love ‘em. However if you have a mop of easily-tangled hair like me and you spend way too much time brushing conditioner through it, use this comb during or after your shower.

Goody Ouchless Elastic Thick Hairbands

These ponytail holders stretch well, hold tight, and no hair breakage. They lose their shape over time (which ones don’t?), but they are cheap enough. I like the thick ones way better than the thin ones.

It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in Product

Miracle, indeed. Seals and protects my thick, tangled, wavy, “horse hair” – as my mother lovingly calls it. This is the bomb dot com. Can’t say enough good about it. I also love the hair mask and it made my list of faves. It’s one of the best leave-in conditioners out there – especially for my hair.

It’s a 10 Miracle Hair Mask

Thank the lord, I can now get my comb through my hair in the bathroom – and it doesn’t take 10 minutes! Recommended to me by hairstylist I trust. Product claims it will detangle, soften, defrizz, restore moisture and elasticity, impart luminous shine, enhance body and improve color vibrancy. Check, check and check. Good for a hair mask, but since I only wash maybe twice a week, I actually use it as conditioner and just leave it on in the shower for several minutes while I attend to other biznet.

TRESemme Curl Definition Jelly for Flawless Curls

Creates shine and helps define curls. Cheap product which works better than others five times the price. Disclaimer: It has the worst dispenser ever, but still worth it because the product is so good. I get so frustrated trying to get it out, that I actually open it up and dump it all into an empty, clean jar (I do this with several bottles at a time) and then use it from the jar.

Oribe Soft Dry Conditioner Spray

As one who’s felt the intense relief of knowing my blowout would buy me 30 more minutes with my beloved snooze button, Oribe Soft Dry Conditioner Spray is a one of those heaven sent products. Not only does the beautiful scent eat up the sins of the night before (whiskey, the faint aroma of 4am disco fries), but you’ll get a nice shine and softness that won’t give your secrets away. Pair it with your favorite dry ‘poo, and hey- who needs sleep?? … or water?? KIDDING. 🙂

Arrojo ReFINISH Dry Shampoo

The sweet, cotton candy smell of Mr. Arrojo’s dry shampoo alone is enough to get your butt up and over to the Keurig. And when you have less than 10 minutes to make your hair look more fabulous and less like it was steamrolled by the garbage trucks that you walked by on your way home, you can count on this spray to lift, texturize and add volume.

Motions Hair and Scalp Daily Moisturizing Hairdressing

I discovered this in the ethnic hair care aisle years ago, and now it’s so hard to find! I had to hunt it down online. It’s better than products five times the price.

Curl Quencher® Moisturizing Shampoo

If curly haired girls had their own secret society, (and come on, we totally should) “Ouidad” would totally be one of our secret passwords. The salon, and the products, have been talked about and shared in coiled society for years now, and their moisture-rich, Curl Quencher Shampoo is a must when I’m wearing my hair in ringlets.

Pronto Dry Shampoo (Oscar Blandi)

This came highly recommended from one of the Sephora Sales Goddesses, and they have rarely, if ever, led me astray. Looking for something to keep my blowout going through a few days of travel, I made the decision within about 2.4 seconds flat to take her word that Oscar Blandi’s was THE dry shampoo, and off I ran.
