MAC’s Opulash Mascara

Anyone else ever dream of being the lead ingenue in their own personal French romantic comedy, a la Amelie- all giant eyes and lush, curly eyelashes? Ah, good, I knew I wasn’t the only one! MAC’s Opulash Mascara is here to make your little gamine heart sing.

Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner (M.A.C.)

You’ll always find one of these Pearlglide Intense Eyeliners from MAC in mama’s makeup bags. (Consider that mama’s not even an eyeliner person, and you’ll understand the magnitude here, PWs.) Super soft and creamy, but stays on, in a array of colors. Favorite shade– Lord It Up- HAWT.

Brow Set (M.A.C.)

I’m not sure how I feel about brow grooming products. It’s a balance, right? The wrong product is just waiting to take you from brow anorexia to Mommie Dearest on drag night in seconds flat. So what’s a gal to do? My brow issue isn’t a biggie- a couple of sparse spots, but a good overall shape, I just need some general fixin’ and filling in. Cue MAC’s Brow Set- a gel with a mascara like applicator that’s easy to use and not messy or overdone. Perfect- now let someone else do the Faye impersonation. 😉

Paints (M.A.C.)

EEK–Eye Paints from MAC!! These used to be my go-to eye primer, or, wear alone minimalist eye look, until MAC’s flashier cousins took their place and I completely forgot about them! I recently found one and remembered why I loved them so much. The color stays on very well, and whatever you put on top will stick like buttah. Now, I implore all PWs to scour the bottoms of their makeup bags for hidden treasures and tell us what you find! <3

Glitter (M.A.C.)

Can MAC’s Glitter be worn by anyone other than a drag queen or a tween? Well I tested that out recently, so (I suppose) the answer is yes… Usually I prefer my glitter both more subtle, and more on the solid side. This falls into neither category, although it’s very eye-catching and very pretty. Oh, and very messy. Cute, But It’ll probably stay in my “special occasion” bag, only to emerge on drag queen bingo night.

Eye Shadow (M.A.C.)

What Product Whore hasn’t walked into a MAC, and had a Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory moment? Don’t we all feel like Violet, ready to binge on those rows and rows of gorgeous eyeshadows?? (and hey, go crazy and turn yourself blue, there’s more than enough shades to choose from! 😀

Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (MAC)

It creased on me. Do I really need to say more? Just kidding, I will 😀 Although I’m much more of a dewy gal, there are occasions I’m feeling the matte. What is not cute, is the powder-settling-into-lines look. While MAC’s Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation provided nice, full coverage, it was a little too “I might become a mummy later today, care to follow me to my tomb?” for me. Returned, I’m not so sad to say. :/

Mineralize Concealer (MAC)

MAC’s Mineralize Concealer goes firmly in my “meh” list of concealers that have failed to tackle the challenge of bringing down my dark circles. First of all, H-A-T-E the applicator brush. Why, MAC, why?? When I haven’t had an ounce of caffeine yet, how on earth would you expect me to maneuver a .00000132425 inch brush in the corners of my eyes??? If that wasn’t enough, the coverage was just lame-o, and not equal to their other concealers I’ve entrusted with this monstrous feat of coverage. We (the dark circles and I) will be moving on.

Pro Longwear Foundation (MAC)

I haven’t had a “Goldilocks” moment with a MAC foundation, and their Pro Longwear Foundation was no exception. One is too cakey, not the right color, makes me itchy… just never quite right. I bought this because I was having one of those “is BB enough??” moments, but it made my skin look dull, kinda orange, and unfortunately, a blemish the size of a small pet appeared to take residence on my cheek the next morning. Therefore, I marched my cakey, orange, and blemished butt back to MAC the next day to exchange it for my beloved Blot Powder (which I highly recommend to PWs, near and far). Crisis (somewhat) averted!

Pro Longwear Lipcreme (MAC)

Let it be known that whenever I want to cheer myself after a particularly hard day, I will treat myself to a MAC lipstick, and I never, ever regret it. Thankfully, I don’t have TOO many hard days, but somehow, I do have quite a few stunning shades of this Pro Longwear Lipcreme, so go figure; I may be lurking around my local MAC store after the good days too 🙂
There are just way too many delicious shades, with a good balance of staying power and creaminess. Definitely in my Lipstick Hall of Fame… which I may have to start in my apartment, at the rate my collection is growing…
