Out Too Late

outtoolateWe’ve all been there kittens. A fabulous night out on the town- champagne, friends, a cab ride home at 5am, and then falling into bed (perhaps face down in clothes and this season’s leather booties) with a full, contented smile on your face. It’s heaven on earth!! …Oh. Until an hour later, when your alarm goes off. You hit snooze. You hit snooze again. And again. Finally, you roll out from under your duvet, complete with raccoon eyes and a sheet imprint down one side of your face.
You think this hasn’t happened to us? It’s so fresh in our memory, in fact, that we’ve compiled the ULTIMATE “Out Too Late” must-have Product List. Just so you can hit snooze one more time, Party Gals!

3526_heroEvian Facial Spray. Sure, you COULD just douse yourself in a liter of this elixir from the Alps. But, hey, it may be a little neater, not to mention sexier, to wake up your skin with a spritz of this mineral rich spray from Evian. A fave of party gals world-wide. Read the Reviews

dry_shampoo_lgArrojo ReFINISH Dry Shampoo. The sweet, cotton candy smell of Mr. Arrojo’s dry shampoo alone is enough to get your butt up and over to the Keurig. And when you have less than 10 minutes to make your hair look more fabulous and less like it was steamrolled by the garbage trucks that you walked by on your way home,  you can count on this spray to lift, texturize and add volume. clq_71JL_250Clinique All About Eyes De-Puffing Eye Massage. This should come with your 4th cocktail. Or with the receipt from your cab driver on your way home at 4:42am. Or you could just keep one in every handbag, desk drawer, pocket… well. You get it. Read the Reviews

03708Lush: Feeling Younger Skin Tint.  A vegan, light reflecting tint with oatmeal and jojoba oil? Oh, Lush. You know me so well– can’t handle the hard stuff. Mix a little of this with your eye cream, then a little concealer after that dries. VOILA. Read the Reviews

s1097146-main-LheroMake Up For Ever HD Microperfecting Face Primer, Green.  I like to think that if this primer could talk it would say, “look girl- I don’t approve of what you did last night (this morning)- but here’s the deal. I got you. It’ll be our secret for today– use a little of me before you throw on all that other nonsense, and I’ll do you a solid. We’ll take that icky redness away and actually make you look kinda stunning. … But don’t let this become a habit.” Read the Reviews

1.ambient-etherealHourglass Ambient Lighting Powder: Diffused.  Cursed are those harsh fluorescent lights on our poor, dehydrated skin. You could hide in the utility closet all day (strongly considered it), or you could carry around this lifesaver from Hourglass. Just a little dusting over your foundation/tinted moisturizer/BB cream is enough to make you look like you’ve suddenly acquired your own personal lighting designer, or an inner dimmer switch.  Read the Reviews

03057Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub.  Here’s the scenario: Your have red wine mouth, and it’s 7am. No bueno. Enter mint julips lip scrub. Just a little sugar and essential oils here, and the mint will freshen your breath…well, thank you very much! So, no mess, because it’s natural and entirely edible, and now you can even put on a little lip gloss without looking like a total freak! Oh, AND the tell-tale freaky purple lip ring is gone. BAM. M0P255MAC Cream Color Base in Pearl.  This eye color base is one of my makeup bag staples. A little of this ultra creamy formula in the corners of your eyes, on the tops of your cheekbones, or right under your brows can take you from Scary Potential Subway Murderess to … whoever Zooey Deschanel is playing these days on network TV. 😉 Read the Reviews

s1306729-main-LheroTarte Inner Rim Brightener.  OK, Tarte- thank you for understanding that white eyeliner in the corners of your eyes, if not done properly, can look a little ghoulish. This eye brightener instead goes with nude, a much better option for enhancing the whole eye area. Glides on very well, and it’s a great option for us pale ladies. Paired with a little mascara, this was enough to save me from an “overcompensating with a heavy-handed application of  an e.l.f. palette” moment. 🙂 Read the Reviews

s956359-main-LheroRosebud Salve (Minted Rose).  Of all the Rosebud Salves that I know and love, (and oh, friends, there are many…) the minted rose is my very, very favorite. This is my by far my most frequent Sephora impulse purchase (and again, there are many…). As I’m sure legions of PWs already know, any Rosebud Salve will fix a sore mouth in a jiff, but it’s also great on rough skin, can heal a blemish, and will give tired skin a healthy glow. Truly a PW Hall of Famer! Read the Reviews

s986836-main-LheroSmashbox O Glow Cheek Glow. It’s the blush equivalent of a mood ring, and I’m sorry, but the tweenie side of me could not resist. If the color it turns your fingers is any indication, things could get scary (aka: hot pink) quick. But no– once, the gel works it’s magic, you have a beautiful, healthy glow that’s hard to get wrong. I ended up building up about three times to get that “no, really, I was a responsible adult last night!” look and the color was stunning. Another benefit for the time-challenged? It looks just as gorgeous on the lips and eyes. Read the Reviews

s1392521-main-LheroToo Faced BB Cream.  Nothing screams “I misbehaved last night” than a cake-y mask of foundation. A much better option is a BB cream which is, in this PW’s opinion, the best invention since dry shampoo. You’ll see improvements in your skin over time, but you’ll also look great immediately, score!!  I love the formula, too–the coverage is just enough, my skin feels super soft,  and I feel like I’ve seen an improvement in dark spots. TIP- if things have really headed south, you can always spot treat with foundation.:) Read the Reviews

s1529601-main-LheroOle Henrikson CC Cream.  When BB cream just isn’t enough. We’ve all had those days. A night you’ll never forget turns into a day you pray will end as quickly as possible. This fabulous color corrector (music to my uneven skin-toned ears!) from Ole Henrikson will fix the previous night’s transgressions faster than a speeding (iced) red eye. So grateful my favorite gal from Sephora on the Upper West Side of NYC hooked me up with a deluxe sample of this, as it fast became one of my bad skin day fixer-uppers. Added bonus- SPF 30, yahoo! falsies-big-eyes_pack-shotMaybelline Volum’ Express Falsies Big Eyes Washable Mascara.  My favorite drug store find of this year!! I discovered the power of this mascara after a happy hour with friends turned into a long dinner, which turned into an after party…. well, I’m sure you can imagine the rest. Luckily, I remembered I had purchased this earlier in the week, not expecting much, but hoping for the best. After one application, I went from Hathaway in Les Mis (post -“I Dreamed a Dream”) to Minnelli in Cabaret. Freaking fabulous. Read the Reviews

s1463801-main-LheroGlamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. Three things have been proven to power me through a sluggish day: a quad soy latte, a quick morning stroll with my pup, and 10 minutes with this extremely tingly and tightening powerhouse called GLAMGLOW. Your skin will feel wonderful for the rest of the day, and the treatment has lasting effects of clearing up blemishes and brightening dull skin. ZING! Read the Reviews

P_Tools_Eyes_LashCurlerRevlon Eyelash Curler. “I’m awake… No, really! I am!” OK, 9 times out of 10, this is a fib. Anyone with me? Anyone else use their little friend, the Eyelash Curler, to assist in this LWL (Little White Lie)? Personally, I save some dough on curlers- I’ve used Revlon’s for years and find it does the job just as well as it’s pricier (but oftentimes showier) cousins. Read the Reviews

s1354919-main-LheroMarc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Rollerball Fragrance.  I dare you not to emerge from a Monday- (or Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) too-many-bellinis-good-time-but-I-have-to-make-it-through-the-work-day coma with this gorgeous grapefruit-apple blossom roller from our man who does it all, MJ. Since the roller is a light concentration of fragrance, it won’t overpower your sure-to-be delicate senses, or annoy those around you. Reapply often, girlies, and liberally, for an instant mood lifter. Read the Reviews

s809673-main-LheroNars Lip Gloss in Orgasm. I dare you not to gain an instant little pep in your step, (and feel just a tad like that 50 Shades chick) with one swipe of this peachy pink gloss from one of our favorite brands, Nars. Orgasm has become a phenomenon (isn’t that fun to say??) with a whole little collection of products sharing the name and color scheme. The great thing is, the shade is flattering on everyone, and brings a fading complexion that may need a little “oomph”, to life. Hey, it’s always fun to keep your co-workers guessing, right?? 😉 Read the Reviews

soft-lineOribe Soft Dry Conditioner Spray.  As one who’s felt the intense relief of knowing my blowout would buy me 30 more minutes with my beloved snooze button, Oribe Soft Dry Conditioner Spray is a one of those heaven sent products. Not only does the beautiful scent eat up the sins of the night before (whiskey, the faint aroma of 4am disco fries), but you’ll get a nice shine and softness that won’t give your secrets away. Pair it with your favorite dry ‘poo, and hey- who needs sleep?? … or water?? KIDDING. 🙂 Read the Reviews

PL’Occitane Lavender Organic Relaxing Roll-On.  The person who gave me this organic lavender roll from L’Occitane right before a happy hour that lasted for 7 hours has since become a friend for life. Since you never know where life (or a fabulous evening out with your favorite people) will take you, having a little piece of relaxation in your pocket at all times is highly underrated. The smell instantly makes me think of my friend, and this makes it one of my favorite products, and lavender one of my favorite scents. Lesson learned? Well, first, YOLO! And of course, pay it forward gals!! xo Read the Reviews
